Active and Passive learning
Blog 6, introduces what is formative and summative assessments, summative assessments are like a summary of the learning process. For example, midterm exam or final exam. In China, most of the schools use to represents student goals, but it does not have feedback on the student’s learning process. Formative assessments are another way represent learning process, For example, quiz, worksheet, and lab, it captures the learning process, and the student will not have pressure before the summative assessments.
The second part of this blog is talking about active and passive learning, active learning is the process of motivating students to solve problems. For example, group discussion about topics from the class. And passive learning needs students to learn by themself. For example, watch videos, read textbooks.
The third part shows us what is a connection between games and learning. Many parents think games will cause students not focus to study in school, but game learning can help students better understand the teaching content, rather than rote learning. it will help students reduce the pressure in the learning process, it stimulating student’s interest in learning will make them learn better.
