Explore the video provided and reflect on the themes of a PLN in a professional capacity.
According to Brad Baker in the YouTube interview, if we want true improvement for school districts, we must be vulnerable. This is my personal opinion. If we wish to make a positive impact on the world, we must be willing to fight for it. Fighting for change requires dedication and determination. It is imperative that we express vulnerability to the audience we are trying to reach, as it has the greatest impact. This is in keeping with the ethos of the audience. I have observed the increase in openness and honesty on social media sites among activists and creators in recent years. Baker also mentions that “social media plays an important role in being vulnerable.”. By becoming vulnerable through social media, more individuals have become more open to change and discussion.
Which social media platforms are beneficial in education?
Based on what I read, I believe blogging will be beneficial to education. In order to write a meaningful blog, you have to find some appropriate references that support your opinion. It improves our learning skills to read books or blogs long in length. We can practice using our own words to summarize significant information from the books we study. In addition, if we want to write a successful blog, we can communicate with other students or friends. Since everyone has a different opinion about the same question, we can gain different perspectives and have different views on the matter.

Hi Shan Jiang!
Thanks for your insights! I agree that vulnerability can be really important in online spaces, it gives a lot of authenticity and truth to it which is so important as educators. I also agree that more and more people are being open about those kinds of things, though I do wonder if even as we’re more open about personal struggles we’re hiding behind face filters and stuff like that. I found your specification of blogging as a beneficial online learning tool really interesting. Do you think you would include more visual social media platforms like Instagram or video blogging in that catagory? I know I’ve found videos by places like Khan Academy so helpful throughout my education!

I think a another reason that the PLN became vulnerable is the advancement of society makes people have stricter standers for the ideas that information conveys. Except the blog I think you can talk more about the other platform like courseware, duo lingo, linkedin, which have the different function but also educate the people.
